Best of British Countryside Fair will be held on Saturday 29 June at North Lodge Farm in Nottingham

One of the biggest countryside events to be organised in Nottingham will take place on Saturday 29 June at North Lodge Farm. The fair, run with the permission of Chris and Julia Butterfield, aims to raise funds for the GWCT to undertake important wildlife conservation research.

The day will feature a host of activities and displays and will showcase all aspects of country life and pursuits. Activities will include a team quadrathon (clay flushes, archery, fly-fishing and 4x4 driving), sheepdog demonstrations by Katy Cropper (world-famous winner of ‘One Man and his Dog’), falconry displays, classic cars, children’s games and activities, a parade of hounds, the Tricky Tykes Terrier racing display team and exhibitors offering wonderful local produce, jewellery, artwork and gifts. As a grand finale there will also be a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight fly-past.

Chris Butterfield said: “We have organised a varied and exciting programme and we really hope GWCT members, friends and their families will give us their support. The day will be a celebration of everything we cherish about the countryside.”

The day will finish with a drinks reception and a barbeque with a grand auction. Tickets are limited and only available to purchase in advance. To buy tickets or for more information, contact Vicky Williams on 0115 9376525 or email vicky.w@northlodgefarm.co.uk
