I'm really struggling with a bad back and want to be able to sit and shoot when out for the pigeons. What I should be looking out for? Andy Crow offers expert advice...

Q: I’m really struggling with a bad back and want to be able to sit and shoot when out for the pigeons. Any thoughts on what I should be looking out for?

ANDY CROW replies: There are lots of options out there to suit tastes and budgets, from the folding ‘backpack’ style to the popular ‘bucket’ seat with a spin-top. Some people use a camp chair and stand to shoot at the last minute.

At the top end of the market you have stuff like the Idleback, which has a backrest and a very smooth rotating action, which might be worth looking at if you are trying to look after your bad back.
