hi, jez. we use to course on there and always had 40 to 50 courses the week after the shoot, we
would catch the ones that where full of shot and all the fit ones got away , alb, Ian.

Hares.
Hi`Ian I saw my old mate today and we got talking about some of the subjects I had read on the forum,he told me about two unmarried brothers that farmed 200 acres on top of the wolds in about 1955 both in there sixtys by then. On thier farm next to the one he worked there where loads of hares, they never shot anything, they would say you could starve to death eating old hare?
They kept two big collies that where nearly black and used to working cattle, the odd eggs they got made sure no foxes ever got near the farmhouse, jack russells took care of most other pests.True? like to think so!!Jez.

foxes like to hoover up leveretts. so well keepered ground should show higher hare numbers.
